How can I volunteer?

Harvey’s Scarecrow trail is organised by a small crew of volunteers who like making people smile. From May through to October there is always something scarecrow related to do.

If you are looking for work experience or simply want to give some time to a community project, then come and volunteer. To volunteer you must be over 18yrs of age at the moment due to INSCO restrictions. contact us now.

Scarecrow map designer

Could you bring our trail map beyond the world of microsoft word? Put your design skills to the test and create a new map for our scarecrow hunters

iOS/phone app developer

2019 is a new era for Harvey’s Scarecrow and we need some specialist skills to bring our community event up to date. We’ve invented a prototype app for android that we need your skills to create for iphones, are you up for the challenge?

Scarecrow deliveries

Can you spare a few hour or two and help deliver flyers, registration forms or scarecrow numbers to local organisations and scarecrow builders? Whether it’s a walk around your neighbourhood or a drive across the Chew Valley any help is much appreciated.

Scarecrow Banner Builder

Help get the message out and let everyone know what’s happening. Can you place our scarecrow banners around the neighbourhood? We can give you a location we’d just like a hand getting them up.

School Scarecrow Champion

Are you involved with a local school and fancy letting them know all about Harvey’s Scarecrows? We invite all schools to join in the trail and want to make it easy for school communities to access registration forms or buy a map. Let us know if you could champion scarecrows in your area.

Scarecrow Event Volunteers

Do you like putting on an event, or want to get some event management experience? On 13 October the Scarecrow Time Traveller Day will be held at Winford School. Get involved and make it happen; from planning this adventure, to on the day activities we’d love any offers of help.

Scarecrow Photographers

Can you capture the magic of Harvey’s Scarecrows? We are looking for volunteer photographers to take some great images of the scarecrows during the month of October that we can use to raise awareness of our great community event.
